ORMOC CITY, July 11 – A-PAD Philippines, in partnership with the Leyte Center for Development (LCDE) and Rotary District International 3860, provided non-food items (blankets & sleeping mats, hygiene kits, and plastic sheets) to 495 families in Barangay Danao, Ormoc City, one of the upland villages severely affected by the magnitude 6.5 earthquake which struck the province of Leyte on July 6. Its epicenter was located eight kilometers southwest of Jaro, Leyte and had a depth of two kilometers. Displacement of many families especially those living in the upland areas is one of the earthquake aftermath. A-PAD continues to conduct relief delivery operations to other affected communities in partnership with the local government, private, and civil society groups.
