The 2^nd International Symposium convening the private and public sectors was held in the District of Jaffna on 5^th of October. The programme was graced by the Deputy Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka, Minister Asako Okai, the Government Agent of the Jaffna District, Mr. N Vethanayahan, and the Director General of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), Maj. Gen. L B R Mark.  The half day event was attended by over 150 representatives of both private and public office from across the country as well as international delegates of A-PAD national platforms from Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
